Support Women in Open Source

I'm a web developer using Open Source tools for most of my work. As a woman, it is hard for me not to notice that I'm a distinct minority in this field. The area I'm in claims a 14% + rate of women, but I'm a co-manager of a very large user-group that only has 1 woman to every 50+ men at every meetup.

As a woman, I can say with certainty that this is a welcoming environment, a fantastic group of people, and a place where more women should be. 

I would like to do what I can to encourage more women to enter and stay in this field. Research has shown that diversity of gender is just as important as other types of diversity in helping companies and organizations be creative and successful, so let's bring more women into the Open Source world!
