My Dream is to be a great father
My wife and I just found out that we are having a son! A new life is growing and cooking away in her belly, and I'm so excited. And a little terrified. I dream of holding him, of playing with him, of teaching him all kinds of things. So many billions upon billions of parents have gone before me, and yet for me its a brand new adventure without any kind of clear roadmap. I pray we have what it takes to nurture and love this boy in the best possible ways.

hi
HI Jack :)
I am speechless
Joe, I just had a moment where I was so filled with happiness and amazement that there are not words to express it. What a picture, what an experience you and Alana are going through. There are not two people I know better prepared, able or ready to raise a child. What a wonderful home and life you will provide! It is such a reassurance to know there are parents like you out there and children of families like yours that will be growing up. We are a better people and a lucky nation for it!
Congratulations you two! It is so wonderful and amazing.
I almost forgot!
I almost forgot to mention what a HANDSOME baby you've got in there! Great 1st picture!
with love,
Alene
CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR SON!
I am so THRILLED for you both! What a lucky boy he is to have loving, sensitive parents like you! The JOY of being a parent, outweighs the fears( believe me I know!).
I just saw a documentary on the effects of music on the unborn child, and all I could think of was you two! It is mind boggling! It is ground-breaking information about the deep connection between music and our bodies and brains. A PBS film, "THE MUSIC INSTINCT, Science and Song". A MUST see for you! Just play your music for your son NOW, and you will be advancing him in ways that's not fully comprehended yet! He will be in Bliss, surrounded by your exquisite music!
Our love and Blessing to you all,
Alene and William Di Dio
Hi Fernie!
What great encouragment from a GREAT Mom! I hope we have what it takes.....isn't that a common worry? How old were you when you had Shanit? We are almost 30, so its a great time, but I think that at any age, its a massive adjustment.
Hey, by the way, a very good friend of ours has a cupcake shop near you that is getting rave reviews by lots of local magazines. It is called Cupcakes Squared, and if you have a chance, please stop by and check them out! The owner is Robin, and she is a lovely lady. its a total WYD kind of story actually....she started her cupcake shop just over a year ago, and I just heard today that she got a call from Martha Stewart! Anyhow, the cupcakes are absolutely delicious, and if you stop by, please say hello from us.
How are you liking SoCal???

YOU DEFINITELY HAVE WHAT IT TAKES!
Hi Joseph,
It is a common worry, but your son will be your great teacher! Love and respect, are key ingredients to good parenting, I do believe, no matter how young or old your child is. I was 26 when I had Shanti and turned 31 a couple of weeks after Shyam was born. I think your 30's are a great time for parenting, because you've had your twenties for your own endeavors, and now your still young and have this new transforming experience to look forward to, and the energy required to do so. I'm thrilled for all 3 of you!
We LOVE it down here! Come visit with Shyam!
lots of love,
Fernie
p.s. Had you heard about the film on PBS?
p.p.s. I will definitely drop by the cupcake shop and say hello for you when I do.
First of all
...you two were born to be amazing parents. Your son is probably the luckiest kid I know (or will soon know). Second of all, all parents-to-be have jitters (or so I'm told), that's why you have 9 months to get prepared! I'm just thrilled I get to witness it all go down. Great things lie ahead my friend. Greater things than we can imagine. Thanks for the sonogram pic. Incredible. Congrats.
