Sunday

I've said it before but I'll say it again. The cornerstone of all film and television is story. And story starts with words on a page (it starts with the idea, but let's skip that step so I can make my point). I know I have to write before I can direct. For most, not all, this is the way into a directing career. And it will be the way in for me.

So here I am, on my couch as Sunday afternoon turns to evening, laptop on my lap, and I'm procrastinating. Well to be fair, I am writing, but it just happens to be this blog. Not a complete waste of time, just not what I'm supposed to be writing. Because what I'm supposed to be writing is a 2 page treatment on our new TV pilot that will launch my writing partner Joseph and I into a career producing and writing television (for the time off in between directing feature films :) )

There is some cathartic satisfaction about blogging about what I should be writing about. Not sure why that is. Maybe if I blog enough about what I'm supposed to write then I'll actually start to write it? That would be cool.
