Failure? What is that?

Thought I should share this with all the dreamers… it’s a quote by Apollinaire, the french poet: “Now and then it’s good to pause in our pursuit of happiness and just be happy”. This quote helps me every time i think about all the steps taken backwards in my journey towards my goals. More >

The achievement of my particular dream - to become a writer/director in Hollywood - has proven to be a real marathon. Not a sprint like I imagined (when I first moved to LA), a marathon. More >

Sleep on it...

I’ve tried it and it works. At first I just thought it was science jargon, you cannot even begin to imagine the number of research articles published on this subject... but after a crazy week of trying to find creative solutions to work related issues, I just gave up most times and went off to sleep. After waking up I faced them again and there would always be an answer, just like magic! More >

In the spirit of taking joy in each Step...

...I'm going to celebrate one small, but very important step. Shyam and I just finished writing the 1st sequence of our new script!

All you writers out there will surely identify with the fact that just drawing first blood feels virtually impossible sometimes. Its only 12 pages, but getting that first sequence finished is a big step.

I'm going to have a drink and enjoy the evening:)

It hasn't been said enough

The only thing holding us back from chasing our dreams is our own mind-set. That's the ONE roadblock that we face. Call it day to day change in perspective or an ebb in inspiration, the bottom line is that we need to get out of all those reservations and inhibitions that we have compartmentalized into boxes in our mind, in order to seek clarity. The great thing about co-writing is...

...when you get stuck you can pass it to your partner to take over. I took an edit pass at our TV pilot after I finished it last week and had zero perspective. We have to cut lots of pages and beef up the humor at the same time. I could do neither. So I sent it to Joseph who now is chopping and tweaking away with fresh eyes. More >

had coffee with a TV writer today

She is a friend of mine who is a successful TV writer. It was great because I wanted to get her insight as I venture into that field. She told me her whole story and how has worked for her. It great to talk to people really doing it because it makes the dream so much more tangible and attainable. She also is connecting me with some of her other TV writing friends. More >

First Draft Done!

We'll technically it won't be done until we spend the next few days and weeks editing it down and polishing it into something we can show people. And then come the endless rewrites...But at least I got through last page! The first coat of paint is on the wall. That is the hardest part. More >
